3 Fun Ways to Move More at Work!

Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you ate.

Hello Educators!

Hope your week is off to a great start! This week, let's focus on moving more while we're at work. Here are three simple ways to add some extra steps to your day:

  1. Move around the classroom

You probably already move around your classroom, but if not, it's an easy way to add more activity to your day. Since you spend a lot of time there, try standing up frequently, even if you can't move around much.

  1. Move with your kids at recess

If you're in an elementary school, join the fun during recess! Kick off those teacher shoes and put on some comfy tennis shoes. Play soccer, organize a class activity, or jump rope with the students. The possibilities are endless, and it's a fantastic way to enjoy the sunshine and move your body.

  1. Move before or after school

Find time to move before or after school. Take a simple stroll around the school perimeter before heading home. Grab a colleague and do some planning or brainstorming while walking. It's a great way to stay active and be accountable to each other!

Remember, the key is to get creative and find ways to move while you're at work. When we make movement a part of our daily routine, instead of just a short session at the gym, we begin to feel the positive effects on how we think and feel throughout the day.
